Frequently Asked Questions Q: What is a Giclée? A: A giclée (pronounced "zhee-clay") is a high quality image produced by an ink jet printer. Though the cost is higher than a lithograph, the quality is outstanding. When a giclée is highlighted with oils to give the work a textured look it is said to be "enhanced". Q: What is a Remarque? A: A remarque is a touch of original art to the reproduction. Typically it is drawn or painted in the white border of the reproduction but sometimes within the image. Q: What is an Artist Proof? A: In the earlier days of lithography, an artist would designate a small number of prints that were the first off the press as "Artist Proofs". These were the best of the edition as the quality of the later prints wouldn't be as good. In modern lithographic presses, the last print is as good as the first. "Artist Proof" is a designation of quality and the value is in the limited number designated as such. Look for the letters "A/P" so you'll know it is an Artist Proof. Q: What is your return policy? A: All sales are final. If your reproduction is damaged in shipping, contact us and we will replace your piece if it is available. If it is unavailable we will issue a refund. Q: Do you have a gallery open to the public? A: At present, I do not have a gallery open to the public and only sell retail online and wholesale to licensed dealers. Q: What is the best way to contact you should I have a question? A: Email @ or call (704) 538-5262. Q: I have a gallery and would like to carry your prints. How do I go about doing that? A: To carry all available Philbeck prints prior to "Sunset Over the Gorge", please contact the Phillip Philbeck® Studio or call (704) 538-5262 to see if you are eligible to set up an account.
